Bialowieza Forest, straddling the border between Poland and Belarus, is the largest remaining part of the ancient forests which used to cover vast areas of Europe and the last remaining habitat of the European bison. The area is also one of the centres of eco-tourism in Poland.

The map covers the National Park area on the Belorussian side of the of the border and the town of Bialowieza in Poland. It shows local hiking paths, various types of accommodation, including hotels and campsites, restaurants, petrol stations, places of interest, tourist information centres, checkpoints, etc. Relief contours and general topographic details are complemented by many symbols and colours to indicate the variety and distribution habitats in the region. Sites for watching specific birds are given particular attention. Coverage extends for about 30km east of the border. The part lying to the south of Bialowieza is on the reverse side of the sheet.
