The European Waterways Map and Concise Directory from Euromapping is a large folded map of Europe showing inland waterways, with an attached directory booklet that gives comprehensive and detailed country-by country information, including higher-scale maps.

The main map is double-sided, showing the whole of Europe (southern Spain to the Urals) on one side and an enlargement of Western Europe (Pyrenees to northeast Poland) on the other.

All main navigable waterways - both canals and rivers - are named and highlighted, with the highlighting varying according to classes of dimensions. Locks, lock flights, tunnels, aqueducts, standing-mast routes, boat portage services and many other features are shown. Routes and locks that are planned or under construction are also shown, as are disused waterways.

The base map has is a physical map with topography shown by shading bands. Country borders are shown, with names in local language, and some towns marked (those near the relevant waterways).

The booklet expands on the map with regional enlargements, some detailed route information and descriptions, as well as general information on each country’s waterways network, including quite a lot of information on official agencies and contact information. Intended as a broad overview of European waterways, it eschews detailed tables of statistics. It is, instead, an excellent survey of the entire waterways network, and an ideal starting point for any further research.
