The map presents both Nagorno-Karabakh and the eastern provinces of Azerbaijan as part of Armenia. All place names, both within Armenia and in the neighbouring countries, are shown in the Armenian and Latin alphabets. The map also contains plenty of information related to the country’s history, particularly in the early decades of the 20th century. Outside its borders names of towns and villages shown in italics indicate destroyed Armenian settlements.

The map shows the country’s administrative divisions with each province in a different colour. Symbols for towns and villages are finely graded according to their size, down to settlements of less than 1000 inhabitants. Various places of interest, both historical or cultural and natural sites, are highlighted. Latitude and longitude lines are drawn at intervals of 1°. Map legend is in Armenian and English. The map has no index.

Given the amount of information provided on the map, road and rail networks are not particularly easy to see in more densely populated areas such as the environs of Yerevan. The map is, therefore, more suitable for reference and its historical information rather than for travelling around the country, particularly by those not familiar with the geography of its eastern regions.
