The main map at 1:18,000 shows most of the city centre, from Mission Beach Park and Seaworld in the north-west to San Diego Zoo in the east and Embarcadero Marina Park in the south. Detail includes railways, trolleybus routes, one-way streets, car parks, and public buildings. Colours distinguish parks and built-up areas and a range of symbols denote various landmarks, monuments, notable buldings, churches, golf courses, museums, hotels, visitor centres, sites of interest etc. On the reverse is general map of San Diego and environs at 1:750,000 extending to Cathedral City, Salton Sea and Mexicali.
All the maps are indexed for streets, towns and places of interest as appropriate for the scale, and throughout the coverage 29 major attractions are highlighted and provided with brief descriptions. Some general notes for tourists are also included ie. public transport matters, money, tourist information resources. A diagram of the local trolleybus route network is included.
